None. But we found some, along the way.

[And a nod.]
It seems you all fought well and made it out in one piece. Well done.

[Something about what he says makes her look nauseous.]
. . . You really oughtn't praise an effort you haven't seen.

All four of you are alive. Is that not praiseworthy enough?
[Because like, if someone ended up dead, that would be another thing entirely.]
But yes. I suppose I cannot judge.
[A low huff.]
Why...were you all wearing those hats, by the way?

[As they're talking, something in her expression just. . . closes off.]
We thought the hats might have been important when we found them, but they were meaningless.

[There was a teddy bear in Sheila's hands. She looked distraught. They all did.]
[Douman's expression doesn't change. They simply ask, quietly:]

[There
was
a teddy bear in Sheila's hands, but it wasn't very cute looking. It was kind of dirty, and would have been an odd pick for a cuddly toy.
Anyway, Harrow's mouth turns down into an ugly scowl, her dark eyes glinting.]
Indeed, there were. Monsters. Is that not scintillating enough? I could try describing them.

Scintillating?
[Douman shakes their head. The bells on the tufts of their hair jingle, lightly.]
...Describe them, if you wish. If you feel you need to.

If I feel I need to?
[She laughs a little at that, short.]
They were monstrosities - humanoid giants, enormously fat and ravenous. Except for the one in the school, with a long neck like a snake. She was particularly nasty.

[There's only a stare at her laugh.]
How dreadful. They sound like monsters I would've seen haunting townsfolk, in my time alive.
